All leads added to your account will display in Leads. Here you can add leads, view recently added leads, search for leads, view lead details, manage your leads by adding notes, send email messages, or update the Lead Category of your leads. Leads added in the past 90 days will automatically display.
Only permission based leads may be manually added to Lead Generator. How do you know if your lead is "permission based"? If you have verbally spoken to this person and they are interested and want you to followup - they are a lead. Leads come into the system either from lead forms, forms on web pages, manually entered, lead importer or the address book importer. Your account can accept up to 3,000 leads per annual rolling period (1-year).
A Lead can be manually added through a Quick Add or a Lead Signup Form.
Quick Add
A Quick Add consists of First Name, Last Name and Email. A Lead can be communicated in any language that is within your Default Market.
Step 1: Choose a Default Language. (The lead will receive email communication in the
chosen language.)
Step 2: Fill in First Name, Last Name and Email.
Step 3: Click "Add Lead".The lead has been added.
Please review "Account Settings" for selecting the Default Category that Quick Add leads will automatically be placed.
Signup Form
A Lead Signup Form collects data from survey questions on the form. All data collected will go into the Lead Details of the lead. For example, you can collect phone number, physical address, interests of the lead, and more. Lead Signup Forms may also be connected to a Lead Category, which means leads added through the Lead Signup Form will automatically be placed into the associated Lead Cateogry - automatically triggering the drip Email Message Campaign.
Step 1: Click "Or Select a Signup Form"
Step 2: From the dropdown menu, choose the form that you wish to use to add a lead.
Step 3: Click "Add Lead".
Step 4: The Window will refresh into a new window. On the left side of the page, you will
see the Form. Fill out the form. When you have completed filling out the form, click
"Submit".You can either click "Add Another Lead" at the bottom of the block, or
"Back to List" and you will be brought back to the Dashboard.
To manage details of a lead, click the first or last name of a lead to view lead details. Here you can view and edit Lead Details, view and edit Lead Notes, view Email History, and Send a Message to your lead, including a pre-written Email Message and a Quick Message.
Lead Details allows viewing and editing of a lead’s contact information and
survey answers. Survey answers come from the Signup Form they submitted. Survey
answers can also be added manually. This is useful if you gather critical new
data of the lead, if you want to update the Category of the lead, or if you need
to update the current data of the lead.
Edit Lead Details
Step 1: Click on Edit. The window will refresh and the fields will be open to edit.
Step 2: Edit the desired fields.
Step 3: Click “Add Field” to add new survey questions/answers.
Step 4: Click “Save Changes”.
You can add Notes to a lead allowing you to stay reminded of conversations,or any other dialogue you are having with this lead. When you enter a note in the Lead Details section, the name of the lead (if added to the Calendar) will appear on the Calendar, along with the note. You can be reminded by email of your notes to stay fully organized.
Add Note:
Step 1: Click on Add Note.
Step 2: The Window will refresh with a note box.
Step 3: Type in your note.
Step 4: Choose a date on the Note Date Calendar (Calendar on the left) that you want
this note to be displayed. Option: If you want a Reminder of this note for a
future date, put a checkbox next to Email Reminder Sent On. Click the date
you want the reminder sent for this note. (Calendar on the right)
Step 5: Type in the Time you entered the note or the time you want this note to be
displayed.
Step 6: If you want this note to show up on the Calendar as a reminder, put a check box
next to "Show note on calendar". You will be able to view this note on your
Calendar. Email Reminder will be sent at midnight on the day of the note.
Step 7: Click "Add Note". Your note is now added.
View E-Mail History, and see what e-mails have been sent to this lead, allowing you to quickly identify what messages communicated to the lead. You can view the date the email was sent, the date the email was opened, the Email Message that was sent, and the Trigger Category that the email came from.
Each email message has a beacon within the message. The beacon will trigger when emails are read in HTML format, and notify the server of the date and time the email was opened. If the email is opened in text only format, the beacon will not be triggered, and the field will still say “N/A”.
In order to quickly communicate a message to your lead, you can send an email message using two methods:

Email Message
Step 1: Place a check in the box next to Email Message.
Step 2: Choose a pre-written email message from the the dropdown menu.
Step 3: Click Send Message.
Quick Message
Step 1: Place a check in the box next to Quick message.
Step 2: Type in a free hand message to your lead.
Step 3: The system will automatically include your "My Signature" at the bottom of the
message.
Step 4: Click Send Message.
Search for Leads by Category, Signup Form, Coop, First Name, Last Name, Email, or by Date Range.
Step 1: Choose from the drop down menu on each field to narrow down your
search criteria.
Step 2: Click Search. The window will refresh and display leads within your criteria.
Export all of your leads, or filter and search for specific leads by Category, Signup Form, Coop, Date Range, or First Name, Last Name, Email Address.
Export Leads
Step 1: Filter your leads by choosing criteria from field choices:
Category: Interested;
From: May 1, 2008 to May 30, 2009
Step 2: Click Search. The lead criteria you searched will display.
Step 3: Click Export. An Excel file download window will open.
Step 4: Click Open or Save.
Lead Importer
Import leads from a spreadsheet document, like Microsoft Excel. The First Name, Last Name and Email of a Lead can be imported. System default allows up to 3,000 leads per annual rolling period. This includes leads collected through all forms, manually added, lead importer or the address book importer. After quota is met, any prospects that submit a form will receive a message reading "Please contact representative directly, their Inbox is full."
Step 1: In an Excel spreadsheet, highlight the fields that you want to import. (First Name,
Last Name, Email Address)
Step 2: Once you have highlighted the fields, right click with your mouse. A window will
open up ‐ click "copy"
Step 3: In Lead Generator, go into "Leads", and then into "Import Leads".
Step 4: In the white box, right click your mouse. A new window will open. Click "Paste".
Step 5: Your data will now be in the white box. Now Click on "Analyze" Data.
Step 6: Match up the columns to the correct fields. Example: Column A = First Name,
Column B = Last Name, Column C = Email address.
Step 7: If you want these imported leads to go into the same Category, choose which
Category from the drop down menu.
Step 8: Click the "Import Data" button.
Your leads have been added. If you did not choose to import these leads into a Category, you can now manually move each lead into the appropriate Category.
Address Book Importer
Import your leads from most web-based email providers. System default allows up to 3,000 leads per annual rolling period (1-year). This includes leads collected through all forms, manually added, lead importer or the address book importer. After quota is met, any prospects that submit a form will receive a message reading "Please contact representative directly, their Inbox is full."
Step 1: When logged in, click on the “Action Generator” button in the upper right hand
corner of your screen. A new window will drop down over the existing view.
Step 2: Click on the second tab called “Address Book Importer”
Step 3: Select your Email Provider from the drop down menu.
Step 4: Insert your Email/Username and Password then click “Get Address Book”.
Your address book will be displayed with check boxes next to each name.
Step 5: Check the boxes that are in line with the leads you wish to import. (each
lead checked will count towards your 3,000)
Step 6: Click “Import and Communicate” to send them to your “Lead Generator”
